Set within a landmarked, six-level townhouse, the David Yurman flagship boutique in New York is conceived as the “home of David Yurman.” The 6,000-square-foot Townhouse reinterprets the iconic American Modern architecture of the mid-1900s to provide a window into the modern, artisanal sensibility of the David Yurman collections.
The interior architecture is defined by vertical movement and suspended volumes, a dramatic interplay between expansive height and compressive, intimate spaces. Three atria visually connect the three retail floors, and a sculptural walnut and stainless-steel stair leads upward from the ground-floor women’s collections, to the second-floor men’s collection and third-floor bridal and couture showroom.
The lighting concept heightens the emotional quality of the space and employs a variety of direct and indirect sources. Organic materials are used throughout the space, while rich, artisanal metal finishes reflect David Yurman’s background as a sculptor and celebrate his artistic legacy.
