Swarovski Crystal Palace Collection 2006
Conceived as a spatial environment rather than an object, Hover is defined by a crystalline ganzfeld that heightens perception and stimulates a feeling of seeing from within.
Hover invites viewers into an intimate sensory relationship with the light and suspended crystal. This luminous, shimmering sensing space represents the imagined interior of a faceted Fresnel lens used to focus and project light from lighthouses. Composed of 5000 individual crystal strands constantly shifting and glimmering in the light, the diaphanous and ever-changing Hover animates the space.
Highlighting the dynamic and interactive qualities of the Hover environment, a kinetic furniture concept developed in collaboration with B&B Italia allows viewers to circulate within it while looking upward, creating an ever-changing view and playfully experimenting with the act of perception.
