Luxury Automobile Showroom
Worldwide Concept
Combining the archetypes of gallery, parking garage, race track and first-class travel lounge, this showroom design for an Asian luxury automobile brand is both an urban plan and a building. It unfolds across multiple levels and varying grades, enacting the straight and curving movements that inspire the thrill of driving. The showroom is re-imagined as a social and experiential place of exchange between brand and consumer, driver and automobile, car park and earthform. Amenities such as concierge reception, business center, theatre, cafè, and manicure and spa parlor inject a lifestyle narrative into the main program of high-performance vehicle display, test driving, service workshop and parking. Prominent yet enigmatic, the showroom is defined by a cantilevered, elliptical canopy shell. A procession of carved sculptural spaces, unveiled in moments of arrival and departure, animates the product line. The entry ramp opens into an elliptical showroom plaza with valet parking and a fabric dome with light oculus. A sculpted tunnel beckons into the reception area, from which the feature spiral display ramp descends to the main showroom level. Driving simulators, paint/fabric display, branding theater, and floating transaction pods wrap around a central display pool. Presenting maintenance activities as an engineering spectacle, the cafè and elevated viewing track overlook the exposed theatrical service bays.
