'The Worlds of Nam Paik' at the Guggenheim
New York City
For a retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, Gabellini Sheppard Associates collaborated with video artist Nam June Paik for an exhibition curated by John Hanhardt, Senior Curator of Film and Media Arts. Our studio was responsible for creating and implementing the spatial setting for this influential media pioneer's exhibition. The artworks, spanning from the early 1970s to the present, were arranged in the Rotunda and Tower galleries based on thematic categories outlined by the artist's unique narrative. The main Rotunda space was transformed by a dynamic full-spectrum laser installation, casting an evolving range of chromatic lights.
