Associate, Architectural Designer

Christine Kim has been an integral member of the Gabellini Sheppard studio for ten years, bringing her strategic design sensibility to a wide range of project typologies, including private residential, condominium, hospitality, and large-scale retail developments.

As an experienced project manager, Christine currently oversees design implementation in the construction administration phase for the Hayground Cove Residence in Watermill, New York, a serene 2.8-acre waterfront estate, following the completion of a private home in Aspen, Colorado. She simultaneously plays a key role in coordinating the redevelopment of the Kingdom Center Mall in Riyadh—a renowned luxury shopping and entertainment destination in the heart of Saudi Arabia. Other notable projects include the Five Park condominiums in Miami Beach, the Four Seasons Resort in Anguilla, and the revitalization of the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Possessing a strong ability to think creatively across scales and a keen dexterity with diverse modeling programs, Christine approaches each design phase with rigorous attention to detail. “Seeing a project move from concept through construction has been incredibly rewarding,” she says, “I’ve always been a detail-oriented person, so I enjoy diving deeper during design development and construction documentation.”

Christine also brings a strong collaborative ethos to the studio. She notes, “Being part of a supportive team that is willing to help each other grow along the way has been essential. We learn from one another, and that exchange helps refine my thinking and design approach.”

Before joining Gabellini Sheppard, Christine worked as an architectural designer at several acclaimed architecture studios in New York, specializing in hospitality, retail, and residential design as well as furniture and lighting design. Christine holds a Bachelor ofArchitecture from Pratt Institute.
