New renderings reveal more details of The Fifth, Alberto Campo Baeza’s first U.S. office building

A quick cruise across the MacArthur Causeway from Downtown Miami lands you on 5th Street in South Beach, where Spanish architect Alberto Campo Baeza’s first commercial commission in the United States will soon be built. The Fifth Miami Beach will offer about 60,000 square feet of Class A office space, in addition to a host of amenities. News about the project was first shared in 2021, and, earlier this year, exterior imagery was released. Now, a new suite of renderings depicts the design ambitions of the project’s impressive interiors, handled by Gabellini Sheppard Associates.

NU Hyper Kitchen Launched in Collaboration with Nero Cucine

Celebrating the success of NU [N037]'s debut at Pianca&Partners's showroom in Milan, which will be welcoming visitors through the end of June 2022.

Gabellini Sheppard and Nero Cucine have created NU, an unconventional and compact presentation of the elements of the kitchen. NU is a sculptural smart hub that combines Nero Cucine’s award-winning N037 wing top technology with Gabellini Sheppard’s design into an ‘off-the-wall’ performative stage. When the countertop is closed the system acts as a sculptural piece. When raised and recessed - it becomes a highly functional action station. Defined by two monoliths, one vertical and one horizontal.

The vertical monolith is constructed of stainless steel panels with a unique gradated stainless steel in an ombre of dark to light The horizontal monolith has a tinted artistic glass enclosure while the action station’s marble top is made of Cipollino Verde marble from Italy. NU incorporates unique materiality with the best of Italian craftsmanship to mold an immersive sensory experience replete with the highest level of innovation. NU introduces rest and motion to illustrate both the enhanced function and beauty of the system’s innovation. The hub’s drawer interiors are lit from within and constructed of a warm walnut. The material palette for the collection is jewel-like in color and transparency, inspired by the glowing quality of gems.

The anticipatory quality of the system’s smart technology, integrates Viabizzuno’s illumination concept which enables the space to be mutable throughout the day or night as the need or mood requires.

Interior Design Magazine Discusses Be Original Americas with Michael Gabellini

For Interior Design Hall of Fame member Michael Gabellini, principal of Gabellini Sheppard Associates, authentic design goes beyond enhancing a given space—it’s integral to the very ecosystem of creativity. “Why we always dip into the well of creativity rather than conformity is that you can’t just borrow a thought; you can’t just borrow an idea,” he says, noting that unique design concepts push the industry forward. So it’s no surprise that his firm, which recently completed David Yurman’s latest New York flagship, is a longstanding member of Be Original Americas, a nonprofit that spotlights the value of original craftsmanship.

The most sensitive time in any medieval court was the passing of a crown and all its authority to the next generation. Will the former prince retain his father’s privy council? Abandon old campaigns? Start new ones? In the case of the jewelry dynasty of David Yurman, the heir to the throne is striking out in a new direction while honoring his house’s legacy, as illustrated by the brand’s New York flagship, recently completed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates.
